Youth in Placemaking
Youth Needs
It is important to consider the needs, desires and dreams of the younger members of a community when making plans and developments for a city through placemaking. Including the jr. placemakers of an area into program development and activating places that are specifically designed by and for them empowers the next generation and creates stability and pride in a community.
Empowering the Youth
Creating projects and activating spaces will create deep attachments to the community and a solid foundation for kids to call home.

Including the youth in the development processes with professionals will provide useful skills and access to the knowledge and resources needed to become successful, community driven and action based adults. Empowering the youth creates an entourage effect in a community through their influence on their peers and the ability to share ideas and motivate others to create their own future and ways to develop space and programs.
